Without a doubt, King Salmon are the most sought after sports fish in Alaska. Anglers from all over the world come to the Kenai River to fish for the largest strain of King Salmon in the world.

The first King Salmon of the year enter the Kasilof River around May 10th. Although smaller in size compared to monsters of the Kenai, their sheer numbers and high catch ratios make this the number one drift boat fishery in Alaska.

Approximately May 20, King Salmon start entering the Kenai River (the world record was caught on May 17). Because of low water at this time of year, we generally fish from drift boats as they are more maneuverable in low water. This enables us to fish portions of the river inaccessible to power boats. When the water level rises around June 10, we will switch to power boats for the remainder of the season.
